By using ParcelGH — including browsing the website, making a booking, or sending a parcel — you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our service.

1About ParcelGH

ParcelGH is an online parcel booking and tracking platform that connects customers with licensed transport carriers operating routes across Ghana. ParcelGH is a technology intermediary — we facilitate bookings but do not ourselves transport parcels.

Our platform is available at parcelgh.com and associated web addresses.

2Who Can Use ParcelGH

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking on ParcelGH. By using the platform, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement
  • All information you provide is accurate and complete
  • You are the authorised sender of the parcel being booked

3Bookings & Payments

When you make a booking through ParcelGH:

  • You will be charged a GHC 12 service fee by ParcelGH, plus the carrier's transport fee
  • Optional parcel insurance is available for GHC 15 per booking
  • Payments are processed via Paystack (Mobile Money or card) or can be paid as Cash at Terminal / Cash on Delivery where offered
  • A booking is only confirmed once payment is received or a COD booking is accepted by the carrier
  • You will receive a tracking code by email/SMS once your booking is confirmed

ParcelGH reserves the right to cancel bookings where payment cannot be verified or where prohibited items are declared.

All prices are in Ghana Cedis (GHC). Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.

5Parcel Standards & Prohibited Items

You are responsible for ensuring your parcel complies with all applicable laws and our platform rules. The following items are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances
  • Explosives, flammables, and hazardous chemicals
  • Firearms, ammunition, and weapons
  • Counterfeit goods and pirated materials
  • Protected wildlife and animal products
  • Undeclared cash exceeding GHC 10,000
  • Human or animal remains
  • Any item prohibited under Ghanaian law or international transport regulations

Sending prohibited items is a serious offence. ParcelGH will cooperate fully with law enforcement in such cases. You will be solely liable for any legal consequences and costs arising from prohibited items.

6Parcel Collection & Delivery

When collecting a parcel at the destination terminal:

  • The receiver must present a valid Ghana Card or Passport
  • The receiver must provide the correct OTP sent to the sender's phone number
  • The carrier's agent will record the receiver's ID details at collection

ParcelGH and the carrier are not liable for parcels collected by an unauthorised person if valid ID and OTP verification were bypassed through the sender's own actions (e.g. sharing OTP with an unknown person).

Where home delivery is selected, the receiver must be available at the specified address. Failed delivery attempts may incur additional fees.

7Liability & Insurance

ParcelGH acts as an intermediary platform. The carrier bears primary liability for parcels while in their custody.

Without insurance: If a parcel is lost, damaged, or delayed through carrier fault, ParcelGH will refund the GHC 12 service fee. Any further compensation is between you and the carrier directly.

With insurance (GHC 15): ParcelGH will compensate you up to the declared value of the parcel, capped at GHC 500, for loss or damage caused by the carrier. Claims must be submitted within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date.

ParcelGH is not liable for:

  • Delays caused by traffic, road conditions, weather, or force majeure events
  • Loss or damage caused by improper packaging by the sender
  • Prohibited or undeclared items
  • Parcels collected by an unauthorised person with valid OTP
  • Indirect or consequential losses of any kind

8Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations are subject to the following policy:

  • Before carrier picks up the parcel: Full refund of the transport fee. The GHC 12 service fee is non-refundable.
  • After carrier picks up the parcel: No refund of the transport fee. The carrier may charge a return fee.
  • Carrier cancellations: If the carrier cancels or fails to operate the route, you will receive a full refund including the service fee.

Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.

To request a cancellation, contact us at support@parcelgh.com with your tracking code.

9Tracking & Notifications

ParcelGH provides real-time parcel tracking via your tracking code at parcelgh.com/track. You may also receive SMS and email updates at key stages (booked, in transit, delivered).

Tracking data is provided in good faith based on updates from the carrier. ParcelGH does not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of tracking updates where carriers fail to update the system promptly.

10Your Account

If you create a ParcelGH customer account:

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • You must not share your account with others or use it for commercial resale of bookings

ParcelGH may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

11Privacy & Data

ParcelGH collects and processes personal data (name, phone, email, parcel contents) to facilitate bookings, tracking, and customer support. Your data is:

  • Shared with the relevant carrier only to the extent necessary to fulfil your booking
  • Not sold to third parties
  • Retained for up to 3 years for legal and audit purposes
  • Protected in accordance with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843)

By making a booking, you consent to this processing. You may request access to or deletion of your data by emailing privacy@parcelgh.com.

12Intellectual Property

All content on the ParcelGH platform — including the brand name, logo, software, design, and text — is owned by or licensed to ParcelGH. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

13Changes to These Terms

ParcelGH may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. We will notify registered users by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

14Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from your use of ParcelGH shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes may be referred to mediation in Accra, Ghana, in accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act, 2010 (Act 798).
