Parcel Rules
Please read these before you book. They keep your parcel, our riders and other customers' parcels safe.
Size and weight
- Maximum 20 kg per parcel
- Maximum 60 × 40 × 40 cm (about a large shoebox carton)
- Bigger or heavier? Message us on WhatsApp before booking: it may need a van, at a higher price.
Packing
- Use a sealed carton or a strong bag. No loose items.
- Write your PGH booking code on the parcel (you get it by SMS when you book).
- Write the receiver's name and phone number on the parcel.
- Wrap fragile items well and mark them FRAGILE.
- Our rider may refuse a parcel that is badly packed.
Allowed, at your own risk
You can send these. Declare their real value at booking and pack them well:
- Jewellery and accessories
- Documents and passports (in a sealed envelope)
- Electronics such as phones and laptops
- Food: dry, smoked or sealed (gari, shito, smoked fish, sealed cooked food)
- Liquids in sealed bottles, maximum 5 litres per parcel
Not allowed
- Cash
- Live animals
- Fresh (raw) meat and fish
- Illegal drugs, explosives, flammables, weapons, counterfeit goods and anything banned under Ghanaian law (see our Terms)
Declared value
- Every parcel needs a declared value at booking: what the contents are worth.
- If a parcel is lost or damaged, ParcelGH refunds the service fee and handles the claim with the transport company. The declared value is what the claim is based on.
- ParcelGH does not offer parcel insurance yet, so send valuable items at your own risk.
