Whether you're sending clothes to a family member in Tamale, electronics to a business in Kumasi, or fresh produce to Takoradi — this guide walks you through the fastest, safest, and most trackable way to get your parcel there using Ghana's bus network.

Step 1: Book online at parcelgh.com

Go to parcelgh.com and click "Book a parcel". Choose your origin city (where the parcel is coming from) and destination. You'll see a list of available carriers with their prices and departure times. Choose the one that fits your schedule.

Step 2: Enter sender and receiver details

You'll need the full name and phone number of both the sender and the receiver. If the receiver's city is far from the terminal, you can add a door delivery option at this step.

Step 3: Describe your parcel

Enter what you're sending, the approximate weight in kilograms, and the declared value if you want to add insurance. Be honest about the weight — carriers may weigh the parcel at the terminal and adjust the fee if it doesn't match.

Step 4: Pay via Mobile Money

Choose your payment method. Mobile Money (MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money) is processed instantly online. You can also choose Cash on Delivery if the receiver will pay at collection.

Step 5: Get your tracking code

After payment, you'll receive a unique tracking code (format: PGH-XXXXXXXX) by SMS and on screen. Save this — it's how you and your receiver will track the parcel.

Step 6: Drop off the parcel

Take the parcel to the carrier's terminal before departure time. Show your tracking code or the QR code from your confirmation. Staff will scan it and mark it as received.

Step 7: Your receiver gets an SMS

When the parcel arrives at the destination terminal, your receiver gets an SMS with instructions. They'll need to bring their Ghana Card or a valid national ID to collect. The terminal will capture their ID number for security.

Tips for safe parcel sending

Pack fragile items well — bus journeys can be rough. Write the tracking code on the outside of the package as a backup. For valuable items, always add insurance. And always double-check the receiver's phone number before you book.
